Just about every art teacher I've ever had tried to get me to simplify my work and not add so much detail, but it only grows ever more complex. This isn't some "I showed you" moment, merely an observation as I sit in the studio looking around at my paintings and seeing how my style has developed.

I tried flattening things down into minimised forms in other areas of life and it didn't work for me there, so why would I aim for that in my art.

Why would I send out a signal which doesn't attract the type of people I'm looking for. Get off my island you flat weirdos.
